Staff bowled over by Learning Disability Week success

NHS staff were bowled over by the turnout for the Health Bus when it stopped off in Ashby to celebrate Learning Disability Week (15-20 June).

The event at Ashby Ten Pin Bowling Centre on Grange Lane South was organised by staff from the Community Learning Disability Team, which is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), to raise awareness of the range of health and social care services in the local community that offer support to people with a learning disability.

RDaSH Community Senior Support Worker Marie Rhodes said: “It was a fantastic day, and we were delighted that so many people visited us to pick up information on the Annual Health Check Scheme, which supports adults with a learning disability to get more health support, and aims to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us make the day such a success.”
