Two local Scunthorpe football teams will let their feet do the talking when they battle it out in the annual charity Graham’s Day football match on Sunday May 6 at Brumby Hall on Ashby Road.
The Bennets and Great Oaks Galacticos will kick off at 2pm in memory of Graham McClellan, who passed away in 2015 and who worked for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) at Great Oaks in Scunthorpe.
Events start at 10am and include a children’s football tournament, a variety of stalls, car boot, food, homemade cakes and refreshments and the use of Brumby Hall.
Peer Support Worker Pete Lambert, who works for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) said: “Graham was a great friend and team mate who touched the lives of many people.
“His great passion was football and he played for two local teams, so this annual charity football match is a fitting way to remember him. I hope that once again everyone will come along and support us. It’s a great day out and the proceeds raised will go to Scunthorpe’s Samaritans.”
