Stress relief support available at The Talking Shop

During International Stress Awareness week (November 4-8) the team at the Scunthorpe Talking Shop is encouraging local people to call in and pick up a free stress relief pack and try out a mini relaxation taster session.

The Talking Shop at 19 Market Hill is the Scunthorpe town centre base for the North Lincolnshire Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) team which is part of this Trust.

The Shop provides free talking therapies to North Lincolnshire people over the age of 18 years who are experiencing feelings of depression, low mood, anxiety, and fears or problems coping with daily life and relationships.

Kate Ashley, IAPT Team Manager at the Talking Shop, said: “We are very excited to be able to offer residents this opportunity to come along and join the relaxation sessions and find out how we can help them to reduce and manage their stress.”

The relaxation taster sessions will be held between 12.30 and 1pm Monday to Friday. Residents will be able to pick up a free relaxation CD to use in their own homes.

The Talking Shop’s team of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists will be on hand to share tips and talk about how they can support people to better cope and manage stress, low mood and depression.
