‘You asked, we did’ – that’s the message from an NHS trust today, (Monday 29 June) as it unveils a family-friendly website for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.
“The new CAMHS website is our positive response to many conversations we have had with parents and carers in particular. They have been asking for a handy resource they can navigate easily, which explains in an easy to understand way how young patients can access and benefit from the services we provide, said Karen Smith, from Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
“We’re pleased with the result which will be constantly updated and we welcome ideas from all generations on how it can be further developed.”
The new website is packed full of local information – from service pathways, useful websites, apps and video links, to what to do in a mental health crisis.
It features individual sections which have been specially written for children; young people; and parents/carers. The different sections support users to go directly to the geographical area where they live, where they can find answers to frequently asked questions, information about the Eating Disorders Service, and an explanation of the roles of the different professions in the CAMHS teams.
