Emergency plans

ambulanceEmergency plans are documents that declare what needs to be done to ensure that an emergency is dealt with quickly and safely. We have a main plan: The Major Incident Plan, which is a broad plan for all emergencies. There are also specific plans such as the Severe Weather and Winter Plan, which are more specific to an emergency and are used in conjunction with the Major Incident Plan.

Why we plan

In the event of an emergency it is crucial that everyone understands what their role is, and what they need to do. This will help us to:

  • Minimise and contain the effects of an emergency as far as possible.
  • Preserve essential services.
  • Restore normality as quickly as possible.
