We are the NHS Lead Provider for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Provider Collaborative for Adult Eating Disorders (AED) and a provider partner in Horizon – the Provider Collaborative for Adult Secure Care
NHS-led Provider Collaboratives are new regional partnerships of organisations that provide specialised mental health services.
The move to regional Provider Collaboratives sees specialised commissioning, quality assurance and delivery of Adult Secure Services, including Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism, devolved to partnerships of local providers.
These partnerships are being established across England as part of a national programme of work that sees the responsibility for the commissioning of specialised mental health services transfer from the NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE/I) Specialised Commissioning team to the new regional provider collaboratives.
The SYB Provider Collaborative for Adult Eating Disorders launched on 1 October 2021 and covers specialist inpatient services and associated teams (e.g. day services, outreach).
Horizon – the SYB Provider Collaborative for Adult Secure Care – launched on 1 May 2022 and covers Adult Low and Medium Secure Mental Illness, Personality Disorder, Learning Disability (LD) and Autism/ASC Services.
The name Horizon was chosen in partnership with the provider partners and a group of service users who suggested the name as an appropriate descriptor of the Provider Collaborative’s future ambitions.
NHS-led Provider Collaboratives comprise all the NHS Trusts and Independent Sector providers responsible for specialist mental health and learning disability and autism services for the population within a specific area. The SYB provider collaborative footprint covers Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
Our AED provider partners are Riverdale Grange who run the Specialist Eating Disorder Hospital at Ranmoor, Sheffield.

- Cygnet Hospital Sheffield
- Riverside Healthcare (Cheswold Park Hospital)
- Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Wathwood Hospital)
