Children’s and young people’s autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder assessment
The children’s and young people’s autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder service is based in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

How we can help
The neurodevelopment service is a specialist service for children and adolescents that offers:
- diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- a neuroaffirming approach which includes personalised recommendations to support needs and recognise strengths
- signposting to partner agencies and other organisations for additional support
How to get help
We offer autism assessment’s from ages 5 to 18 years across all 3 localities in terms of our Doncaster, North Lincolnshire and Rotherham teams.
For an ADHD assessments the child must be aged 6 to 18 years in North Lincolnshire and aged 7 to 18 years in Doncaster and Rotherham.
We will only accept referrals from schools or education settings. If the child or young person is electively home educated the Electively Home Educated team or Education Inclusion Services can refer. If the child or young person is not in education, employment or training (NEET) please contact us for additional guidance.
The service has developed the “Tree” form to be used as part of the Neurodevelopmental Pathway referral process. This form needs to be downloaded to be completed. The supplementary information is intended to be completed collaboratively, by the school and parent or carer together.
We cannot accept parental, self or extended family member referrals. Please take note that all people with parental responsibilities need to consent to this referral.
