Specialist Continence Service

Are you one of the millions who experience bladder or bowel weakness?

Maybe you’re looking after a loved one or working in a professional incontinence care capacity?

Whatever your situation or experience, this is the place to find information, support and even inspiration.

Thousands of men and women in the UK have trouble with their bladder and bowels. Continence problems can be difficult to talk about and people often put up with symptoms such as leaks or urgency for years. They adapt their lives as they try to cope and often don’t seek help because they feel embarrassed.

About us

The Specialist Continence Service is a team of specialist nurses who have skills in both assessment and treatment in bladder and bowels and pelvic floor problems.

We can offer advice, support and implement appropriate treatment and management depending on the outcome of the assessment.

If you have promiddle aged coupleblems with urgency, frequency, leaks when coughs or sneezes etc occur or have problems with your bowels, loose stools or constipation.  If you do, please speak to your GP, Practice Nurse, Consultant or any other Healthcare Professional regarding a referral to our service.

On your first visit you will be given a comprehensive assessment and a personalised treatment plan by one of our specialist resources.

If you are housebound, or are unable to attend a clinic, we do have a nurse who can visit you in your own home.
