This year we will be offering more than 57,000 school children across Doncaster, Bassetlaw and North Lincolnshire a flu vaccination.
The initiative is part of the National Flu vaccination Programme which has again been extended and will now be offered to all children from Reception through to Year 7. This year’s programme will start at the beginning of October 2020, being delivered in schools and on our Health Bus until the end of January 2021.
Flu can be an unpleasant illness in children and some children can develop serious complications. By offering the Flu vaccination to as many children as possible, we hope to protect both them and other family members in time for winter as the infection is less able to spread. The vaccine is given as a nasal flu spray which is quick and easy to administer.
If your child is in one of the eligible cohorts in the Doncaster, Bassetlaw and North Lincolnshire areas, you will either be sent via school an electronic link to complete a consent form on line or you will be given a letter and consent form by school to bring home for you to complete.
If you do not receive either, you can also print the following consent form, complete it and return a scanned or photo image via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the planned vaccination session.
If your child is home educated or you have deferred entry until next year, please see the timetable below. You are welcome to bring your child to any of these sessions.
