Amber Lodge male low secure learning disability unit provides specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adult males detained under the Mental Health Act and is based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
The Forensic Division provides a regional specialist, low secure inpatient forensic service for people with learning disabilities comprising one unit with 23 beds, which split into 18 bed rehabilitation and recovery unit and a five bed intensive support unit (ISU) which is commissioned by NHS England.
The rehabilitation and recovery unit is an 18 bed male unit that offers specialist treatment programmes and structure working within a positive behavioural support model. The ISU is a five bed male unit, which delivers a highly structured and supportive service to service users who can be very challenging to engage into services.
Our 60-plus team of highly trained practitioners provide a combination of specialist assessments and treatment packages to people with a primary diagnosis of learning disability who are likely to have mental health needs.
Service users are assisted to achieve their full potential by providing a person-centred approach, placing them at the heart of the support and care they receive. Our experienced staff encourage personal development and aim to improve independent living skills.
