This page is dedicated to support staff who are carers outside of work.
What is a carer?
‘A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.’ – Carers Trust UK.
What support is available to me?
Carers Assessment: Most people who are caring can have a carers assessment regardless of their caring circumstances. Your local council should be able to provide your assessment, or point you in the right direction.
For information on benefits and carers allowance, please follow the link for Department for Work and Pensions.
