Trust goes on the road for Volunteers’ Week

volunteers week logoWe’re going on the road to showcase the valuable contribution volunteers make to our services during Volunteers’ Week (1-12 June).

Staff and volunteers from RDaSH will take the Health Bus to Rotherham, Scunthorpe and Doncaster to celebrate volunteering and raise awareness of the wide variety of opportunities it has available to people of all ages and experience.

RDaSH Head of Nursing Chris Prewett said: “Every day our volunteers unselfishly give up their own free time in a wide variety of ways – providing peer support, gardening, taxiing patients, serving refreshments, and working in hospital reception areas – the list goes on and on.

“Volunteers’ Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate all that they do, so we’re going out and about to do just that. We hope people will pop onto the bus for a cuppa and a chat, and who knows we might just get some new recruits!”

The Health Bus will visit:

  • Parkgate Shopping Centre (outside River Island), Stadium Way, Rotherham on Monday 6 June, between 10am and 2pm.
  • Gallagher Retail Park, Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe on Tuesday 7 June, between 10am and 2pm
  • Lakeside Village (outside M&S), White Rose Way in Doncaster on Wednesday 8 June, 10am to 2pm
