From 8 October, a community speed watch will be starting at the Tickhill Road Site for 6 months.
A team of trained volunteers, working alongside South Yorkshire Police and our Health and Safety team, will be carrying out the speed checks using a speed gun.
The speed limit on site is 15mph, but when we carried out an initial review, most cars were going above this, with some recorded as fast as 29mph.
Here’s how it will work if you’re caught speeding:
- first time you will receive a warning letter from South Yorkshire Police
- if you’re caught a second time, you will receive another warning letter
- if you’re caught a third time this will result in a fine issued by South Yorkshire Police
Over the next few weeks, you’ll also start to see signs going up around the trust to remind everyone that the community speed watch is in place.
This is all about keeping our site safe for staff, patients, and visitors, so thank you for doing your bit and sticking to the 15mph limit.
