Volunteering in the NHS roadshow

Do you live in North Lincolnshire and have been thinking of volunteering in the NHS and would like to know more? Then come along to a volunteering roadshow.

You can meet and chat to some of the team from our trust on Thursday 6 February, first at Scunthorpe Central Library, Carlton Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6TX from 10am until 11:30am and then the Job Centre, 17 Crown Buildings, Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6JT from 2pm until 3:30pm.

You will have the chance to meet the team and get an understanding of what face to face volunteering with us looks like and to talk about the three roles currently on offer that are volunteer admin, volunteer catering and service improvement assistant.

Patient Experience and Involvement Lead, Stuart Green said: “The sessions will be an opportunity to invite people of all ages 16 and over and diverse groups to come and have a chat about jobs, volunteering opportunities within our organisation.

“Currently, most of our volunteers tend to operate in the Doncaster area, providing fantastic support, and we now want to up the numbers in North Lincolnshire.

“We are also eager to talk to a wide range of patients, carers and members of the public who would like to have a say in how we run our services.”

There will also be an opportunity to begin the necessary paperwork to start volunteering with the trust, so do bring identification with you if you can.

Volunteering with us can open many opportunities to support meaningful activities, gain some experience, help with getting job ready, put something back into the NHS, meet new people. If you have a few hours or more to offer in your week, please reach out.

All out-of-pocket expenses will be covered as an active volunteer including opportunities in training and development.

If you are unable to attend either of the events and are still interested in volunteering, you can email rdash.volunteers@nhs.net to discuss what opportunities may be available for you.
