In order for Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust to provide appropriate services to the population it serves and maintain a safe and secure environment for its colleagues there will be requirements for certain groups of colleague to provide either an on call or out of hours service or extended service cover or attend work outside of normal working hours in an emergency.
NHS England core standards for emergency preparedness, resilience and response (EPRR) also dictate that an on-call policy for such colleagues is good practice.
This policy covers situations in which colleagues are required:
- to be part of an on-call or out of hours arrangement covering time outside normal rostered duties
- to be part of an extended service cover arrangement
- to attend work outside normal working hours to help cover an emergency
To access the policy, please visit on-call managers policy (staff access only) (opens in new window) on the intranet.
