Sexual health ceftriaxone intramuscular injection for Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust patient group direction (PGD) for the administration of ceftriaxone injection (reconstituted with lidocaine 1% weight per volume injection) by intramuscular (IM) injection for the treatment of uncomplicated neisseria gonorrhoea infection.

This patient group direction (PGD) must only be used by registered professionals who have been named and authorised by their organisation to practise under it.

This PGD template has been peer-reviewed by the sexual health PGDs short life working group in accordance with their terms of reference. It has been approved by the British association for sexual health and HIV (BASHH) and BASHH bacterial special interest group (BSIG) in February 2023.
