Children and young people’s epilepsy specialist nursing
Located in Doncaster and the Bassetlaw area.
The specialist nursing service for children and young people with epilepsy offers education to patients and families, medication assessments, and management of side effects for those with epilepsy.
How we can help
Ways we can support:
- providing education to patients and families, helping them understand epilepsy better and become experts in managing the condition
- providing tailored education is also available for schools, volunteer groups, or other organisations to assist in meeting the specific needs of the child or young person
- conducting regular care reviews for all patients, including medication assessments, side effect management, and prescribing when needed
- assisting with applications for disability living allowance (DLA) and support in applying to charitable organisations
Non-urgent advice: How to get help
Referrals are made by health care professions, schools, nurseries and spite settings. Parents can make direct contact to self-refer by phone.
