Infection Prevention and Control

Our vision is that no person is harmed by a preventable infection.

We have a dedicated team of specialist infection prevention and control nurses, based in the Nursing and Quality directorate, who promote best practice in infection prevention and control to our staff in order to maintain our low incidents of healthcare associated infections.

Infection prevention and control is the responsibility of everyone and is only truly successful when everyone works together.

If you are feeling unwell with diarrhoea and/or vomiting or have a cold or flu and have an clinic appointment please phone the clinic before you visit to ask whether it is appropriate for you to attend.  If you are visiting someone on one of our wards please postpone your visit, if possible, until you are feeling better.
