Hepatitis C specialist nurse

Our team of specialised nurses is extensively trained and skilled in managing and treating hepatitis C.

We have a pivotal role in supporting patients through their treatment journey, both in primary and secondary care settings, including local prisons.

Our nurses’ roles:

  • supporting consultant-led hepatitis C clinics
  • conducting nurse-led clinics at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and prisons
  • engaging with drug and alcohol services in the community
  • running community clinics across the borough
  • providing a telephone support service

How we can help

How we can assist:

  • listening and addressing any concerns or queries regarding hepatitis C
  • collaborating with other services involved
  • educating patients and caregivers about hepatitis C
  • managing side effects for those undergoing treatment
  • providing support through telephone consultations and medication prescribing
  • assisting patients with poor venous access to blood draws
  • monitoring the condition’s progress

How to get help

Any adult diagnosed with hepatitis C, whether through a healthcare professional or via self-referral, can be referred to our service.
