Older people’s mental health inpatient wards
Specific inpatient services are available in different regions:
- Doncaster: Windermere Lodge
- Rotherham: the Willows
- North Lincolnshire: Laurel ward at Great Oaks mental health unit
These facilities offer specialised care tailored to the unique needs of older individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Our approach revolves around personalised care and treatment for memory difficulties or dementia, emphasising understanding and supporting individual qualities based on their life history, preferences, needs, and abilities.
Windermere lodge
Specialises in assessment and treatment for patients with memory difficulties or dementia.
The Willows
Focused on assessment and treatment for patients experiencing memory issues or dementia.
Aims to enhance the overall wellbeing of patients accessing the older people’s mental health services at the Willows.
Great Oaks
Great Oaks offers services for patients experiencing acute mental health issues, providing a safe and stabilising environment for those in crisis, whether detained under the mental health act or voluntarily seeking care. These acute wards cater to patients requiring a high level of care and support when the community setting is not suitable for treatment.
Opening times
Wards are open every day:
- 10am to midday
- 1pm to 5pm
- 6pm to 9pm
If you are unable to visit at these times, arrangements can be made for you to visit at other times. If this is required, please speak with the nurse in charge on the ward to arrange this.
