Speech and language therapy
Located in Doncaster.
The speech and language therapy (SLT) service provides specialist assessment and therapy to adults throughout Doncaster who have communication or swallowing difficulties because of a neurological condition.
These difficulties can be a result of acute conditions such as stroke and head injury, or a long-term condition such as Parkinson’s Disease and multiple sclerosis.
How we can help
We provide services to inpatient rehabilitation wards, see people in community settings and support end-of-life care within the hospice service.
We also advise on alternative methods of communication and provide training in a variety of healthcare settings.
Non-urgent advice: How to get help
If you are aged 18 or over and have difficulties with communication or swallowing, you can request a referral to speech and language therapy via your GP or another named professional involved in your care.
