The Specialist School Nursing team provides services to special schools in Doncaster, including:

Offering advice, support, and appropriate treatment based on assessments.

Confidential guidance and support on:

health needs assessment and planning
promoting health and wellbeing
health screenings for hearing, weight, and height
health and development needs
support with immunisations
managing long-term conditions
handling medications at school and home, including emergency medicine
continence support, assessment, toilet training, and bedwetting assistance
support and training for gastrostomy or naso-gastric feeding within school only
home visits
supporting emotional health issues and life changes
referrals to other health professionals
assisting with transitioning from health visitor, nursery, and mainstream schools
attending open days and parents’ evenings
health events open to schools upon request and arrangement

All children, young people, parents, and carers within special school provision can self-refer through their school.
