The Specialist School Nursing team provides services to special schools, including:

• Heatherwood school
• Stone Hill school
• Pennine View school
• Northridge school
• Coppice school
• Bader school
• The Bridge

Confidential guidance and support on:

• health needs assessment and planning
• promoting health and wellbeing
• health screenings for hearing, weight, and height
• health and development needs
• support with immunisations
• managing long-term conditions
• handling medications at school and home, including emergency medicine
• continence support, assessment, toilet training, and bedwetting assistance
• support and training for gastrostomy or naso-gastric feeding within school only
• home visits
• supporting emotional health issues and life changes
• referrals to other health professionals
• assisting with transitioning from health visitor, nursery, and mainstream schools
• attending open days and parents’ evenings
• health events open to schools upon request and arrangement
