Tissue viability and lymphoedema

Located in Doncaster.

The tissue viability and lymphoedema service (TVALS) offers assessment and treatment, specialised advice, and expertise in tissue viability, wound care management, and Lymphoedema for residents in Doncaster, whether they reside in their own homes or in registered care homes with or without nursing, and are registered with a Doncaster GP.

How we can help

Our service aims to educate and raise awareness among patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals regarding tissue viability, lymphoedema, and wound management.

We collaborate with communities by providing:

  • expert knowledge and experience in assessment and treatment to aid clinicians in patient management
  • comprehensive care focusing on the four cornerstones: skin care, external support, exercise programs, and simple lymphatic drainage for patients and their carers
  • educational sessions and training for care homes during clinical visits
  • support to maintain individuals’ independence in their chosen places of care, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, and facilitating timely hospital discharge
  • formal training and educational programs
