E-cigs vs normal cigarettes
We do not yet know the long-term effects of using e-cigarettes because they are still relatively new. However, experts believe that the risks are much lower compared to smoking tobacco.
If someone is unable or unwilling to stop smoking, e-cigarettes are considered a better alternative.
E-cigs and the law
It is illegal to sell electronic cigarettes or e-liquids to anyone under the age of 18. Additionally, adults are prohibited from purchasing nicotine-containing products, including e-cigarettes and e-liquids, on behalf of someone under 18.
While it is not against the law to smoke e-cigarettes in public buildings like pubs or restaurants, many establishments have their own rules and policies regarding vaping.
When buying e-cigarettes online, it is important to be cautious, as some products may be of poor quality. Always ensure that the e-cigarette has a kitemark shown below.
In addition, ensure the e-cigarette has the European Conformity (CE) marking show below to verify its safety and quality.
Reasons why non-smokers should not start using e-cigs
Most e-cigs have nicotine, which is addictive, making it hard to stop using them.
E-cigs are cheaper than cigarettes, but they still cost money that could be spent on things like music, makeup, or eating out!
