Dr Graeme Tosh, Medical Director

Graeme Tosh is our medical director and grew up on the beautiful North coast of Northern Ireland near The Giants Causeway, after completing his A-levels he went off to study medicine in Scotland at the University of Dundee.

After graduating he decided to move south so went on to train as a junior doctor in a variety of places including Southampton, the Isle of Wight, London (Camden, Highgate and Walthamstow), Glasgow, Mansfield and Derby. He became a consultant in 2012 and his first post was in RDaSH where he has remained ever since.

Graeme is probably best known in Rotherham, where he has worked in almost every clinical team including early intervention, community therapies, liaison and perinatal. These days he works for the Rotherham adult ADHD team on Wednesdays. He is passionate about clinical psychiatry but also has an interest in problems solving and enjoys the challenge of trying to do things in the most effective and efficient way possible which led him naturally into a career in medical management. Graeme says he never planned to be a medical director, it just sort of happened and he’s glad because he really enjoys the challenges the role throws at him on a daily basis.

Graeme is keen to increase the profile of RDaSH across the region and make the trust the employer of choice for newly emerging consultants, he wants to work with local commissioners to ensure that we move towards equality of care across South Yorkshire and the Humber, taking every opportunity to make our services slick and efficient while maintaining the kind and compassionate approach we are known for.

Outside of work he loves cycling, going to the gym and walking his dog in the Peak district.
